Thanksgiving Break
There is no class on Sunday December 1, 2024, in celebration of Thanksgiving.
December 1st is the first day of Advent! Children should still attend Mass with you, whether here at Sacred Heart or at another Parish.

Please use Documents to the right to register your child(ren) for our 2024-2025 PREP classes. Registration is due July 7th, 2024 to ensure your enrolled students will have materials when classes begin.

About PREP
The P.R.E.P. program at Sacred Heart is committed to the religious education of our children in order that they might reach their full potential and become effective witnesses to the Gospel and God's love for the world. The primary means by which this is accomplished is thorough catechesis.
“Catechesis describes the essential ministry of the (Catholic) Church through which the teachings of Christ have been passed on to believers throughout the ages…Catechesis is an education in the faith of children, young people, and adults which includes the teaching of Christian doctrine” of the Roman Catholic Church. (National Directory for Catechesis, no.1, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops).
We look upon each child as created in the image and likeness of God, and encourage our children to share the love of Jesus by reflecting his glory in their daily lives. Students live and experience their faith through sound catechesis, worship, works of mercy, and fellowship.
In the words of St John Paul II, “The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ: only He can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity.” -

Program Information

As of June 11 2021, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, in accordance with the Philadelphia Department of Health recommendations, declared that in parishes and institutions in the City of Philadelphia, there is no requirement for face coverings or masks. The Archdiocese also declared that “the non-use or use of a face covering or mask is not to be imposed unilaterally in churches throughout the Archdiocese.” Thus those who wish to wear a mask may wear a mask and those who do not wish to are not required to wear a mask. Level Preschool is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
Levels 1-5 will be using Discover! Finding faith in Life by St Mary’s press.
Level 6 will be using Alive in Christ by Our Sunday Visitor.
Level 7 will be using Our life in the Church by Ignatius press.
Levels 2 & 7 are part of our Sacramental Preparation Program.
The homeschool program is My Catholic Faith Delivered by Ignatius press.

At Sacred Heart, we embrace all children regardless of special need or disability. We will make every effort to ensure that your child has the support and accommodations needed for success.
